Angelica

Not sure what it's for, but managed to get a small plant in a pot a few months back, and transplanted it. It's added about three new leaves, and the oldest leaf has been eaten by something.

No doubt about it, it's a handsome looking plant:

Is this something that dies back in winter then grows back? It looks sort of evergreen to me. My only concern is how big it's going to get if it doesn't die off. In the meantime I'll find out if it's "useful".
